The Wilmington Railroad Museum chronicles the development of railroads through an extensive collection of photographs and artifacts ranging from a 150-ton locomotive to a four-ounce timepiece. It is located next to the waterfront in downtown historic Wilmington. In addition to its exhibits, this kid-friendly museum gives visitors the chance to climb aboard a steam locomotive and a bright red caboose or play in the Thomas the Train play area and watch model trains run through miniature towns.
